Overview

Warung Ayam Pecak is a humble gem nestled in the bustling Pantai Hillpark area of Kuala Lumpur. This Indonesian eatery delivers an authentic kampung-style dining experience that transports you away from the city’s skyscrapers to a simpler, more vibrant culinary tradition. The restaurant’s focus on grilled dishes, especially the iconic ayam bakar and ayam pecak, highlights its dedication to classic flavours and time-honoured recipes.

The star of the menu is undoubtedly their Nasi Ayam Bakar, where tender chicken, marinated with a special blend of spices, is grilled to perfection. The accompanying sambal terasi bursts with balanced heat and umami, offering a spicy kick that complements the smoky, charred meat beautifully. Similarly, Nasi Ayam Pecak showcases a unique harmony of textures and tastes, with the sambal’s fiery punch enhancing every bite.

For seafood lovers, the restaurant’s offerings like Nasi Talapia Merah Bakar and Nasi Siakap Pecak are equally compelling. These dishes feature fresh, well-seasoned grilled fish that embody the robust flavours of Indonesian coastal cooking. Complemented by sides such as ulam, tempeh, and stir-fried kangkung, the meals feel both hearty and wholesome.

Warung Ayam Pecak’s intimate setting adds to its charm. While the space is small and can get warm, it reflects the genuine street food ambience many enthusiasts seek. The location, tucked within a crowded flat area, may pose parking challenges, but this only underlines its authentic, unpretentious character. The place is perfect for food adventurers and local taste seekers looking for traditional fare away from polished mall eateries.

Customer feedback consistently praises the generous portions and fresh ingredients, especially the succulent grilled chicken and spicy sambal. Many recommend ordering through delivery platforms to enjoy the food in comfort. Despite its modest surroundings, Warung Ayam Pecak offers exceptional value and a rich cultural taste experience that stands out in KL’s diverse food scene.

The ayam bakar was superb! The sambal very good: flavourful, spicy. More good if they provide you limau nipis(certain time don’t provide) because can complete the taste. Highly recomended to try with very reasonable price. Ayam bakar rm12 and ayam pecak rm10 and they give you quarter chicken. Very recommended to try. Better order via grab food or panda. Kedai was small and hot, lack of parking space since at very crowded flat area.

Cheaper to buy direct rather than using Grab Food or Food Panda. Super large fan and nice and clean dining area if you choose to dine in . Service was fast and food was good considering the cheap price.

Superb food at a reasonable price. The best sambal, paired with huge selection of grilled and roasted menu; we chose grilled chicken, catfish & eggplant. 10 out of 10 will definitely come back again.
